Carter’s Journey //

O ne of the first things Carter
learned about having cancer
is that he is not alone. Through his
family, friends, caregivers and even other kids with cancer, he’s learned that he
is part of a big community of people that love and support him.
During his journey, he marks his progress with beads—each one representing a different treatment milestone. For every needle poke, a black bead. For every blood transfusion, a red one. And so on. Yes, his journey has challenges. But his multi-colored chain represents a 9 year-old meeting those challenges everyday.
